Individuals seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons.  Some have gone through a recent experience which leaves them feeling unsteady and unsure how to cope.  Many individuals have developed unhealthy or ineffective coping mechanisms over time and now they are at a point in which they need additional skills to operate under a different perspective.

Individual psychotherapy allows us to look at ourselves and process how we are thinking, feeling and acting and to gain better insight as to how to move forward when we are feeling stuck.

My training has lead me to understand the importance of helping clients utilize and find their own strengths and discover or rediscover their instincts and eventually learn to trust their own intuition.  A goal I always have as a therapist is to increase self-efficacy and empower the client so that they leave therapy and begin to trust their gut.
